What is iCalendar

Internet Calendar or iCalendar, often referred to as iCAL, is a standard format for calendar data exchange and enables users to create electronic calendars.

Instructions for subscribing to iCalendar

Outlook - Desktop (only available in the classic Outlook app)

1. To add the 91ÖÆƬ³§ academic calendar to your Microsoft Outlook calendar, click on the ‘Calendar’ link on the 91ÖÆƬ³§ calendar page here.
2. A dialogue box will open, click ‘open Outlook’.
3. In Outlook, a dialogue box will open asking you to ‘Add this Internet Calendar to Outlook and subscribe to updates?’- select ‘Yes’.
4. The calendar will be added to your Outlook calendar as ‘91ÖÆƬ³§ Academic calendar’.

Note: For the new Outlook app, you can add the iCAL subscription via using the ‘Copy link’ URL.

Outlook – Mobile

You can add the iCAL subscription via .

Note: You can’t subscribe to iCAL on the Outlook mobile app.


Apple Mac Calendar

1. To add the 91ÖÆƬ³§ academic calendar to your Apple Mac calendar app, click on the ‘Calendar’ link on the 91ÖÆƬ³§ calendar page here.
2. The Calendar app will open a dialogue box displaying an import URL - click subscribe.

Or subscribe to the 91ÖÆƬ³§ academic calendar using the ‘Copy link’ URL.

1. Go to the Calendar app on your Mac.
2. Choose File > New Calendar Subscription.
3. Enter the calendar’s URL, then click subscribe.

Note: Users should change the auto-refresh setting from every week to every day to ensure the calendar is up to date.

Google Calendar on iPhone/ Android

Note: You can’t subscribe to the iCAL on the Google calendar app for iPhone, Android or iPad.

1. To add the 91ÖÆƬ³§ academic calendar to your Google Calendar, click on the ‘Google Calendar’ link on the 91ÖÆƬ³§ calendar page here.
2. Your Google calendar will open (browser version), along with an ‘Add Calendar’ dialogue box displaying an import URL - click ‘Add’.

Google Calendar - Desktop App

1. To add the 91ÖÆƬ³§ academic calendar to your Google Calendar, open your Google Calendar App.
2. In ‘Other Calendars’ in the side menu, click on the plus (+) symbol to ‘Add other calendar’. Select ‘From URL’.
3. Then click ‘Copy link’ from the 91ÖÆƬ³§ calendar page here.
4. Enter the link in the URL field and click ‘Add Calendar’.
