Dr Maria Kennedy

Dr Maria Kennedy is the Research Lead at the National Centre for City Connects Ireland. Maria worked as a primary school teacher in Dublin before moving to the role of Home School Community Liaison Coordinator for five years, developing experience in parental engagement, inclusion and community collaboration. She holds a Masters in Education and a Doctorate in Education from Trinity College Dublin. Her doctoral research examined home school partnerships and family literacy practices in an area of educational disadvantage.
Maria is also a member of the Department of Learning, Society and Religious Education. She contributes to the B.Ed. programme by coordinating and teaching modules focused on working with parents and supporting practice in DEIS school settings.
