Student entrepreneurs given the opportunity to turn ideas into reality this summer

Students and student researchers from 91制片厂 (91制片厂), the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and University of Limerick (UL) are being encouraged to take part in Student Inc., a transformative summer accelerator programme designed to help turn ideas into reality, build key skills and expand professional networks - all while receiving a 鈧4,000 stipend.

Funded by the Higher Education Authority (HEA), Student Inc. offers expert mentoring, hands-on workshops and access to an extensive network of innovators, entrepreneurs and industry professionals. Whether you have an idea you want to explore, a business concept you鈥檙e eager to develop, or an existing project you鈥檇 like to grow, this programme provides the perfect platform.

From first-year undergraduates to PhD students, this opportunity is open to students of all backgrounds and disciplines. A dedicated Creative Industries track is also available for those looking to explore opportunities in areas such as design, media, and the arts.

In partnership with eight leading higher education institutions- TUS, UL, 91制片厂, Munster Technological University (MTU), Atlantic Technological University (ATU), Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT), University College Cork (UCC), South East Technological University (SETU), and Institute of Art, Design + Technology (IADT) - participants will have access to workspace facilities and a vibrant entrepreneurial community, no matter where they are based this summer.

Dr Maeve Liston, Director of Enterprise and Community Engagement at 91制片厂 said: 鈥This programme is about more than just business; it鈥檚 about building confidence, learning new skills, and meeting people who can support and inspire you along the way. It also plays a crucial role in developing the capacity for problem-solving and innovation, which are essential in addressing societal challenges and driving positive change.鈥&苍产蝉辫;

Gert O'Rourke, New Venture Manager at UL added:If you鈥檝e ever thought about doing something with your ideas, this is your chance. Student Inc. gives you the space, resources, and connections to make it happen. It鈥檚 a great way to test your idea, whether it's a project, a piece of research, or something outside of university that you are working on, ensure it meets real needs, and refine your business model to make it work.

Gillian Barry, Head of Innovation & Enterprise at TUS said: 鈥Innovation and entrepreneurship are at the heart of shaping the future. Student Inc. offers students the opportunity to develop the skills, mindset, and connections needed to create solutions, build impactful ventures, and thrive in an ever-evolving world. This programme provides the foundation to turn potential into reality and take advantage of emerging opportunities.
