Students from 91制片厂 (91制片厂) were recognised at the Board of Irish College Societies (BICS) Awards in Sligo, where the Mary Immaculate Dramatic Arts Society (MIDAS), took home the award for 鈥Best Society (Cultural)鈥.

Held on 10 April at the Clayton Hotel, Sligo, the latest BICS award marked another national recognition for MIDAS as 91制片厂 students previously brought home the 鈥楤est Society鈥 award on five separate occasions. The award also comes in the same month that MIDAS marked its 25-year anniversary with a sold-out run of Legally Blonde at the Lime Tree Theatre in early April.

The BICS Awards celebrate the achievements of student societies across Irish colleges and universities. As part of the adjudication process, students submitted detailed applications and met with panels of judges drawn from third-level institutions across the country.

Speaking after the event, Dave Cuddihy, Clubs and Societies Coordinator with Mary Immaculate Students鈥 Union (MISU), praised the society's work throughout the year:

鈥淭he impact that MIDAS has on our Limerick campus is truly admirable and something we should all be proud of at 91制片厂. Members of MIDAS, once again with their sheer dedication to the society, have shown that they are not just the best 91制片厂 has to offer but also the best the country has to offer. Within a small college, the statistics that come from MIDAS are truly extraordinary for a student organisation with over 184 events throughout the year, including a sold-out run of Legally Blonde. The society also raised over 鈧2,000 for Breast Cancer Ireland.鈥

Adam Stapleton, fourth-year Bachelor of Arts student and Chairperson of MIDAS said:

鈥淲inning the Best Society (Cultural) award at the BICS is a huge honour for all of us involved in MIDAS. It鈥檚 a real testament to the dedication and collaboration of our members throughout the year. We鈥檙e especially grateful to all the alumni who have shaped MIDAS over the past 25 years and helped make the society what it is today. We鈥檙e so proud to represent 91制片厂 and to see our work recognised at a national level.鈥
