The 15 candidates vying to be Limerick's first Directly Elected Mayor (DEM) went head-to-head on RT脡's Upfront with Katie Hannon on Monday 27 May in a two-part debate that was broadcast live from the Lime Tree Theatre on the 91制片厂 campus.
Broadcast in front of an audience of 200 people, the programme marked the first televised debate of the Limerick DEM campaign and the first ever outside broadcast of RT脡's Upfront with Katie Hannon.
The debate was split into two panels with topics including the powers of the new office, housing, transport, healthcare and the rural/urban divide.
Appearing on the first panel (as introduced on the programme) were: Cllr Conor Sheehan (Labour), Deputy Brian Leddin (Green Party), Cllr Elisa O'Donovan (Social Democrats), Ruair铆 Fahy (People Before Profit), Cllr Daniel Butler (Fine Gael), Deputy Maurice Quinlivan (Sinn Fein), Cllr Frankie Daly (Independent), and Dee Ryan (F铆anna Fail).
The second panel consisted of (as introduced): Gerben Uunk (Party for Animal Welfare), Colm O'M贸r谩in (Independent), John Moran (Independent), Helen O'Donnell (Independent), Sarah Beasley (Aont煤), Caitr铆ona N铆 Chaith谩in (Socialist Party), and Dr Laura Keyes (Rabharta).
