91制片厂 and GPA Announce Extension to 91制片厂 GPA Sports Scholarship Partnership

91制片厂 and the Gaelic Players Association are delighted to announce an extension to the 91制片厂 GPA Sports scholarship scheme.

Originally introduced in 2021 for a three-year period the 91制片厂 GPA Sports Scholarship is open to Gaelic Players Association (GPA) members who are undertaking postgraduate study at 91制片厂. Under the revised scheme, successful applicants can avail of fee waivers of up to 鈧4,600 per annum. 

According to Professor Niamh Hourigan, Vice-President Academic Affairs at 91制片厂:We are delighted to extend this partnership with the GPA. We are committed to supporting our students in their academic and personal development and the feedback from the recipients confirms that this is a worthwhile and fruitful scholarship scheme for them. We have had four excellent sportspeople representing the College under the scheme to-date and look forward to many more鈥

Previous recipients of the 91制片厂 GPA scholarship include Clare Senior hurler Diarmuid Ryan (2022/23 and 2023/24), Waterford camogie player, Niamh Murphy (2023/24), Limerick camogie player, Caoimhe Costelloe (2021/22 and 2022/23) and Limerick footballer, Padraig de Br煤n. 

Diarmuid Ryan praised the scheme for supporting him in balancing his sporting and academic responsibilities: 鈥淚t gives me the opportunity and support to achieve my goals both as a student and an intercounty hurler. It has helped me find the perfect balance between my studies as well as keeping up with the demands of an intercounty player.鈥
