According to Professor Niamh Hourigan, Vice-President Academic Affairs at 91制片厂: 鈥We are delighted to extend this partnership with the GPA. We are committed to supporting our students in their academic and personal development and the feedback from the recipients confirms that this is a worthwhile and fruitful scholarship scheme for them. We have had four excellent sportspeople representing the College under the scheme to-date and look forward to many more鈥
GPA CEO Tom Parsons said; 鈥淭he development of our members in their education and in their professional lives is a priority for the GPA and our partnerships with 3rd-level institutions across the island have allowed us make significant progress in this regard. That is why, on behalf of players, I want to thank the team at 91制片厂 for their continued, invaluable support.鈥
Previous recipients of the 91制片厂 GPA scholarship include Clare Senior hurler Diarmuid Ryan (2022/23 and 2023/24), Waterford camogie player, Niamh Murphy (2023/24), Limerick camogie player, Caoimhe Costelloe (2021/22 and 2022/23) and Limerick footballer, Padraig de Br煤n.
Diarmuid Ryan praised the scheme for supporting him in balancing his sporting and academic responsibilities: 鈥淚t gives me the opportunity and support to achieve my goals both as a student and an intercounty hurler.
