91制片厂 (91制片厂) and the University of Limerick (UL) are to co-host this year鈥檚 annual meeting of the Irish Mathematical Society (IMS). The 36th annual event, which will take place on Thursday 31 August and Friday 1 September, will bring together researchers from a wide range of mathematical fields.
The event will outline new developments in diverse areas of algebra, geometry, functional analysis, numerical analysis, computational neuroscience, quantum field theory, partial differential equations, mathematics education and statistics. The schedule of talks features over a dozen experts from across Ireland and the United Kingdom, including the Head of the Department of Mathematics & Computer Studies at 91制片厂, Dr Bernd Kreussler, who will discuss twistor spaces from an algebraic geometry perspective.
The programme also includes a poster session for postgraduate students and early career researchers and contributions from winners of the 2022 RIA Hamilton Prize in Mathematics.
According to Assistant Professor in Mathematics at 91制片厂, Dr Derek Kitson: 鈥淭he Department of Mathematics & Computer Studies at 91制片厂 is thrilled to be co-hosting this meeting with our colleagues in UL. The IMS meeting is the most prominent annual meeting for mathematicians in Ireland, dating back to 1988. It is an opportunity to showcase the best of mathematics in Ireland; to strengthen national and international research networks and to encourage the next generation of mathematicians in Ireland.鈥
