91制片厂 has long been committed to the promotion of lifelong learning and supporting those of every age to educate and upskill - reflecting our belief that learning is a lifelong journey and that our campus should be a welcoming, inclusive space for all ages.

For many years, 91制片厂 has actively organised and hosted events that engage older adults, encouraging them to participate in campus life through a variety of events, workshops, and initiatives.
Age-friendly activities involving staff and students at 91制片厂 contribute to our mission of inclusion, access and social justice, ensuring a cross-generational movement; organising events and campaigns that are inclusive of all ages to create solidarity, knowledge transfer and understanding between generations.
In July 2025, 91制片厂 became a member of the Age Friendly University Global Network (AFUGN), joining other higher education institutions worldwide dedicated to making our campus and our programmes accessible and welcoming to older adults. The AFUGN, which began in Dublin City University in 2012, is built around Ten Principles that guide universities in promoting positive and healthy aging, lifelong learning, and intergenerational engagement.
Our membership in the AFUGN signals 91制片厂鈥檚 ongoing commitment to shaping a campus culture where older adults are integral members of our learning community, and where age diversity is celebrated as a source of strength and inspiration.

Join us at 10.45am on Friday 12 December in The Halla, 91制片厂 Limerick campus for some festive refreshments and treats, and music from the 91制片厂 Choir and students.

Age Friendly Events
At 91制片厂, our commitment to fostering an age friendly environment is reflected in our vibrant calendar of events. From Culture Night each September to the annual Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival in Spring, from Arts for All Day in March to the Limerick History Research Seminar series in Autumn, there鈥檚 always events of interest happening across both campuses. These events are open to the public and warmly welcome older adults to participate, learn, and connect within our community.
The Age Friendly Campus Committee also organises regular gatherings specifically tailored to older people. These include friendly coffee mornings and opportunities to enjoy short talks and performances from the 91制片厂 Choir - an ensemble that itself welcomes new members of all ages. Such events are designed to foster networking, friendship, and a sense of belonging amongst older adults at 91制片厂.
91制片厂 Intergenerational Learning Programme
As a college dedicated to initial teacher education, 91制片厂 places paramount importance on delivering high-quality educational programmes, not just for our students in the pursuit of third level education, but also in the promotion and delivery of lifelong learning initiatives.
By offering a diverse range of programmes that cater to the interests and needs of older learners, 91制片厂 aims to enrich their lives, promote their wellbeing, and foster a vibrant learning community. Offering older adults more access to the 91制片厂 campus and the education programmes provided by the College will also enhance intergenerational learning opportunities for our student body.
