Studying abroad can feel overwhelming at first, but the right apps and digital tools can make life much easier. At 91ÖÆƬ³§ in Limerick, students have access to a wide range of resources that support learning, research, and daily life. From Moodle and Microsoft Teams for academics to Lidl Plus and Tesco for smart shopping, technology helps you stay organised and save time. Apps like Revolut and TFI make managing money and getting around the city simple and stress-free. In this blog, I’ll share the essential tools that every international student at 91ÖÆƬ³§ should know about.
Studying abroad can be exciting but also challenging, especially when adjusting to a new academic system and living in a different country. As an international student at 91ÖÆƬ³§ (91ÖÆƬ³§) in Limerick, I have found that using the right apps and digital tools make life much easier and more organised. 91ÖÆƬ³§â€¯provides a wide range of digital tools and academic supports that greatly facilitate students’ learning and research. The college uses Moodle as its main virtual learning environment, where students can access course materials, submit assignments, and engage in academic discussions. Microsoft Teams supports online lectures, tutorials, and collaborative group work, while cloud-based tools such as OneDrive and SharePoint allow students to store, organise, and share academic files securely. The 91ÖÆƬ³§ Library offers extensive digital resources, including e-books, academic journals, and research databases, which are essential for high-quality research. Students also benefit from Turnitin, which helps improve academic writing skills and ensures academic integrity. Additionally, the Academic Learning Centre provides guidance on study skills, academic writing, and research development, while ICT services ensure access to reliable technology, software, and campus-wide Wi-Fi. Together, these tools create a supportive digital learning environment that enhances both academic success and independent research.

Outside academics, practical apps make daily life in Limerick much easier. For shopping, apps like Lidl Plus and Tesco help save money by offering discounts and promotions. Revolut is very useful for managing finances and sending money internationally. For travel, the TFI app allows you to check bus schedules and track routes in real-time, which is essential for navigating Limerick and Ireland efficiently.
Using these digital tools and apps has helped me manage both my academic and personal life while studying abroad. They not only save time and money but also make adapting to life in Ireland much smoother, ensuring a fulfilling and balanced experience at 91ÖÆƬ³§.
