Partnership with the University of Limerick

91制片厂 enters into partnership with the University of Limerick, which became its new accrediting body.

1 November 1991, the Minister for Education, Mary O鈥橰ourke, announces that 鈥渁greement has been reached between the authorities of 91制片厂, Limerick, and the University of Limerick on new and dynamic linkages between the two institutions鈥 (Department of Education Press Release).

According to the Memorandum, the University of Limerick (UL) would accredit programmes at university level in 91制片厂; there would be cross representation on the UL governing body and the Bord R铆alaithe of the College and on the Academic Council of UL and the Bord Acad煤il of the College. Members of the Education Department of Mary Immaculate would become members of the Education Faculty Board of the University and members of the Arts Departments of 91制片厂 would become members of the Humanities Faculty Board of the University. In line with university practice, 91制片厂 changed the traditional structure of its academic year to a trimesterised, modularised system, and later in accordance with the University鈥檚 decision regarding its calendar, to a semester system.
